Cameroonians had been challenged with online learning despite the numerous online learning plat forms that exist online.  The main reason I got from some of my subscribers is the high cost of certification that exists on some of the popular online plat forms.  Today, I will be introducing a Made in Cameroon online learning plat form which offers courses on computer technology and entrepreneurship, Skademy.

Mobile Money Cameroon How To use MTN mobile Money Services

MTN Cameroon being the leader in telecom service in Cameroon had brought about many innovations in Cameroon. One of its major achievement is the introduction of MTN Banking services commonly known as mobile money. This mobile banking service has been of advantage to individuals, schools, businesses and other institutions.

In this post I will provide   answer some questions that will help you to use the services.

   Before we begin you have to ensure you have a mobile money account registered with MTN Cameroon. If you don’t have, then read out the post:

Basically, using MTN mobile money is all about dialing the USSD code *126# and following the steps depending on your needs or the type of transaction you want to carry out. To carry out  a mobile money operation, simply reply with the number that corresponds with ‘’what you want to do’’. For example if buy airtime is option 2, you will reply with ‘’2’’ (Please don’t use the quotes’’ just type 2).Here are some questions which will help you to use the service effectively.

1.     How can I contact MTN mobile money customer care?

-Dial 8787

-Choose your language

-Reply with 3 (at the moment),   For mobile money services.

-Enter the pass word 1111 if asked for.

Other pass words that work at times include: 7777 or 0000.

                                        2. What is mtn mobile money code?

The code *126# or *126*1# gives you access to all MTN mobile money options

3.     Which tariff plans can I subscribe to with MTN mobile money airtime?

The airtime you get from MTN mobile money is like any other airtime. You can use it with any tariff plan.

4.     How can I get my password if forgotten?

Get to customer service( see respond above if you have forgotten). Request for  a pin reset.

The agent will send the pin to your phone. When you recive the pin, write it oout on a piece of paper

-Dial *126*1#

-select ‘’ Manage Account’’  (reply with  ‘’5’’)

-Select ‘’PIN Reset’’  ( by replying with option ‘’5’’)

-Enter the code that was sent to you

-Enter a new pin (It should be of 5 digit) which you can easily remember.

You will always need this to do your transactions.

5.     HOW Can I withdraw money without a phone?

You cannot withdraw money without a phone. Every transaction is carried out with a mobile phone. You will need your phone to confirm the withdrawal.

                                      6. How can I change my pin?

-Dial *126*1#

-Reply with the number corresponding to manage account ( ‘’5’’ at the moment am writing this post).

-Select ‘’Change Account Pin’’

-Enter the old pin to confirm your account  and proceed to create a new pin.

                                       7. How can I put money into my account?

MTN Cameroon has more than 1000+ authorized partners where you can carry out your mobile money operations.  If you can find a sign post with the words

                                                         ‘’Mobile Money Available’’

 Then you can gladly do your transaction with no stress. The most popular places where you can carry out include:

a)     Filling stations like  Tradex ,  MRS, Oilibya  filling stations. MTN lately announced another partnership with Total.

b)    Financial institutions like: Express Exchange, Credit Du Sahel, CCC,Sofina, Garanti Mutuel, Afriland first Bank  among   other

c)     Any MTN service center in your town.

In order to carry out a successful recharge, you will need to give your phone number and the amount in Cash to the mobile money agent.

As a precaution, always ensure your phone is on, for you to confirm the transaction.

The Confirmation Message   always come with sender ID ‘’MobileMoney’’ or ‘’111111112’’

                                            8. How can I send Money or Make a payment?

In order to send money, you must have the phone number of the person or institution. Making mobile money payments require the following steps:

-Dial *126*1#

-Reply with the option Send Money (1)

-on This menu you have two main options (Mobile money user and Others)

  If the person you want to make payments to has   a mobile money account, Reply with option

‘’1’’.

Reply with Option ‘’2’’ to someone who is not having a mobile money account.

The number must not be an MTN number. You can send money to an Orange, Nexttel, or Camtel subscriber with no problem.

With option 2, you will have to send a token number to the payee.

                      9.  How can I withdraw Money from my Account?

Withdrawals are done through an agent.

Here is what to do:

-Visit any agent or partner and give your mobile money number (Your phone number is your account Number). 

-Wait for him to initiate the transaction. He will ask you to authorize the transaction, once he is done on his path.

-To authorize the transaction,

 = Dial *126*1#

=Reply with option    ‘’4’’ (Pending Approval)

=Enter Pin to see the pending approval

= Authorize the transaction

=Confirm the transaction by reply with ‘’1’’ (Yes)

If you don’t want to you can decline with ‘’No’’ (2)

10.  How can I check my Balance?

     It is very important to know how much is left in your account.

One way to do this is by keeping the message you got from your last transaction.

If you are not convinced, then go the Mobile Money code way:

-Dial *126*1#

-reply with option ‘’5’’ and then ‘’1’’ to check your balance.

Over 8 years of running commercial websites to work online for Google and other affiliate programs, I like to show you free ways of how to get traffic to your website or blog. Many webmasters think having a website with beautiful design is all they need to attract surfers. However, their concepts are only 10% right. The other 90% of getting website traffic takes hard work and diligence and time. The answer is simple. You must tell people about your website or blog. You must advertise the site to surfers so they know about it.

How To Get Traffic To Your Website

You might already know about how to design your website or blog to get fresh content, title and mega tags with keyword-rich contents. For example, for my website, my title is “How To Make Money Online”, meta tags I put “make money working for Google, earn money with Google, making money with Google AdSense, etc.”
Some people spend tons of dollars to advertise on Google AdWords or Yahoo Searches, I want to show you free tips for getting traffic without costing you a cent.

1. Submit your website or blog to search engines. Don’t submit too many times a month because you may get banned from it. Some of popular search engines you may submit to are: Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Alexa, and so on. You can search on Google to get more search engines. Working online for Google and other affiliates require your patience, diligence, and time.
2. Submit your website or blog to link directories. These web directories you can find either online or at forums like DigitalPoint forum. Make short titles before you submit. For example, I make a title for my site to submit to link directories as “How To Make Money Online”.
3. Submit your website or blog to social networking sites such as Digg, Twitter, Facebook, Mixx, etc. Don’t submit many links on one of your site to these social networking sites a day, you may get banned.
4. Write articles and submit them to article directories. You will get at least 2 or 3 links at the author’s area.
   Update your blog or website with new content/pages at least weekly. Search engines like fresh content.

These are free ways to get traffic on my websites and blogs, other webmasters may have some other ways. That is how I did every day, week, month, year to get traffic on my sites. Remember, you can’t get traffic overnight. It takes time, diligence, and hard work when you work online from home.

On digital piracy Part One

In the past, pirates were known as the squashbuckling, one-legged, eyepatch-wearing Captain Jack Sparrow-type of sailors who would brave the seas in search of precious treasures (or booty, as it was known). They were the outlaws of the sea, the mavericks who were both celebrated and deplored by many in their time.

However now, the digital age has brought along its own (rather less exciting) type of pirate.
The treasure for todays pirates is no longer a chest of fine precious jewels, but instead perhaps an entire series of Game of Thrones, Ed Sheerans latest album or the Football Manager video game- all of which are accessible easily via torrents, files that direct your computer to download larger ones, be it an MP3 album, a film, or anything.

Whereas to purchase Football Manager 14 from a shop, Id have to locate the item and travel to my nearest game stores (leaving the house, oh!) to lump out 35 of my pounds, via torrenting I can get this for free, completely. All without leaving my house, right on my computer, not a pound lost from my pocket.

Thats largely where the appeal of digital piracy lies- you can get something of value that you desire for free. And in the day of almost all media (even books) now being on digital platforms, you can get quite a lot.

To many, this practice raises serious moral issues, and perhaps rightly so. Is there really a difference between torrenting Fast and Furious 6 and simply walking into my nearest HMV, grabbing a copy of it from the shelves and walking out without paying? On the surface, there is little difference- in both cases you have obtained something of value that was not given willingly to you for free by the creator(s).

However, many people fail to take into account such a link, the reason why digital piracy is far more widespread than shoplifting- and its unsurprising why many of us do not see digital piracy, perhaps irrationally, as a direct equivalent to shop theft.

The internet has hugely affected our behaviour- most notably due to the fact that it provides a proxy between communicators, it provides an environment in which relationships are usually more detached, separated by a screen.
This separation is clear in how confidence is gained by many internet users who, in the real world, have very little- cyberbullies, trollsters and whatnot are largely of this type.

The lack of interpersonal communication during the process of torrenting makes it a much more appealing prospect than outright shop theft; when on the internet alone, you feel there is no one watching you (something in fact untrue), so theres no one that provides a reaction to your torrenting, theres no one to catch or stop you. This is an environment that is far more conducive to theft.

This nature is shown in the statistics- as of 2011, 42% of software running in the world was pirated, 95% of music downloaded online was pirated, and two-thirds of all torrents were illegal. Three years on, illegal downloads have continued to grow in popularity. Its clear- the world is full of digital piracy.

At the end of the day, digital piracy is the same as theft from a store. We have all been guilty of it, but perhaps we need to change our attitudes towards it; we wouldnt steal directly from a shop, so why should we steal online?

But actually, on the other hand, does digital piracy actually matter? Does your downloading of a piece of media really have any negative impact on the multi-millionaire producers of the things we download?
